Sales Manager – Fundraising at Stichting van het Kind (2016 – 2017)

I joined Stichting van het Kind in March 2016 as an Attendant Captain for two months before being promoted to Sales Manager. In this role, I was responsible for coordinating and training employees in the art of fundraising. The role was similar to my previous position at Emolife, with an emphasis on leadership and team development.

Key responsibilities included:

  • Training and coordinating employees
  • Ensuring a professional and consistent representation of the foundation (SVHK)
  • Developing a training program for new employees
  • Working on the streets in teams of 2 or 3 while providing on-the-job coaching
  • Developing and innovating sales techniques to improve performance

This role further honed my ability to lead teams, implement effective training programs, and drive successful fundraising efforts.

Emolife Straat Zwolle (2013-2015)

In late 2013, I joined Emolife Street Zwolle, a company that manages street teams raising awareness for charitable organizations. I worked there until September 2015, during which I steadily advanced to the position of Sales Manager. My progression within the company followed a structured path: from Rookie (first 3 days), to Recruiter (3 months), Pool Captain (4 to 5 months), Team Captain (11 months), and finally, Sales Manager (4 months).

Key responsibilities and skills developed during this time included:

  • Cold selling using the AIDA model
  • Onboarding and training new employees
  • Coaching and motivating team members
  • Researching sales techniques, writing pitches, and delivering advanced training sessions
  • Managing and coordinating teams (50 people during low season, 100 during peak season)
  • Working with sales targets and setting these goals
  • Conducting interviews, managing dismissals, and handling challenging conversations

This experience sharpened my leadership, sales, and coaching abilities, giving me a strong foundation in people management and strategic sales approaches.
